Tempo is a Marvel Comics character, primarily associated with the X-Men franchise. Her real name is Heather Tucker, and she is a mutant with the ability to manipulate time, hence her codename.

Tempo's powers manifest as localized time manipulation, allowing her to accelerate or decelerate the flow of time around herself or others. This grants her a variety of offensive and defensive capabilities. She can age enemies rapidly, create time bubbles to slow opponents, or even grant herself bursts of enhanced speed and reaction time.

Initially, Tempo was a member of the Mutant Liberation Front (MLF), a radical group led by Stryfe. Her motivations stemmed from a belief that mutants were oppressed and that radical action was necessary to ensure their survival. Later in her comic appearances she distanced herself from MLF and Stryfe's more destructive behaviors.

While primarily a comic book character, Tempo has also made appearances in animated X-Men series, though usually in minor roles. She is a character with a complex moral compass, torn between her ideals and the destructive path chosen by her earlier associations.
